rustic chicken pot pies, 1.14

The filling was gorgeous–carrots, pearl onions, peas, and plenty of oven roasted chicken and homemade chicken stock. But, instead of making a dough late last night from scratch, I opted for some puff pasty sheets I had in my freezer for the crust on top.

It was…not as exciting or delicious as I’d hoped and eating the filling without a good solid buttery crust atop is just not chicken pot pie. This will definitely need a proper re-do.
