carpino sweater.

One of two Brooklyn Tweed sweaters I finished over the break. The Carpino by Carol Feller is smartly designed, easy to execute, and gorgeous when finished (be sure to check out her blog, Stolen Stitches, as well). I love this sweater more than any sweater I’ve knit to date. Used Brooklyn Tweed’s Loft in the camper colorway and learned new techniques for this like a “saddle” style shoulder, i-cord edging along the neckline, and an elastic bind off I’d never tried before.

This sweater will definitely be a lifelong staple in my handmade wardrobe. In fact, as I type this, I am wearing it!

All in all, a sweater I would use the “base” of for different ones–like instead of the lace front, maybe I’d just use the body and shaping since it fits like a glove to try, say, a striped sweater.

Stay tuned. The best Brooklyn Tweed pattern I’ve completed to date. I urge every knitter to make this one! Check out my notes on some modifications at my Ravelry project page.
