Yesterday's day off meant lazing around and getting some holiday knitting done. The result? I whole host of new chunky garter stitch scarves (which I'll post later), and of course, these Smosch.com-inspired winter handwarmers, which I just realized she whipped up by crocheting.But I did mine knitting in the round (though for what it's worth, I'm going to try it crocheting in tube because it sounds so easy and gratifying to do it this way and it didn't even occur to me at the time!) using a reverse fabric stitch and while the yellow ones are a bit snug, the grays are snuggly warm and the perfect homemade accessory for all of us who will leave the heat at 55 deg. this winter with our sputtering, gasping for breath economy.These would be a perfect gifty for the holidays or for anyone who works from home and intends to keep the heat on a low this winter, like my artist sister who sits at the computer all day.I liked these so much I figured I'd write up a pattern for how I knit up these babies, which is available in pdf for free.File Under: These take but a day to knit up.
