Box o'...
Over the holidays, I was buy making up boxes for friends instead of blogging. I'd say, boxes are better than blogs, but that's just one humble handmade junky's opinion. One of the best boxes I put together this year was for my favorite couple of people, a couple, Jon and Mackenzie, two close friends of mine who happen to live in Providence. Yes, this box was...Providence.Instead, it featured some yummy eatables: homemade gingerbread cookies (men, mittens, pigs, and hearts, naturally), homemade lime cookies, homemade cinnamon swirl bread, which is perfect with a cup over the holidays, and even my homemade black bean dip.It also was filled with holiday candies (tic tac, life savers, canadia mints, and the like), holiday mixes (cds, not drinks!), homemade knits like Omar Owl, Mackenzie's Fair Isle Mitts, and some slippers featured in the 2008 Holiday Interweave Knits magazine. I'm sure there were other items, like tossed off Y.A. lit for Mackenzie to gobble, conveniently wrapped in Jacob Black wrapping...naturally, and other kitsch.Of course, I asked them to take snaps of all the excitement when they opened it. Of course, they obliged. And it was hilarious. You can check out the Box's contents at Flickr. There was no harming of the Jon during the making of this post. I don't think?
