christmas, wip.

Literally--and figuratively! I decided to knit my nephew a Christmas in July sweater by Tanis Lavallee this July--and guess what? I'm gifting it to him for Christmas. It's all come full circle.I decided to use up my Knit Picks Palette fingering yarn--which I have 100 hues of and is perfect for the little bits you need for this sweater's yoke (yes for more stash busting projects!). Normally I like to make super wash wool sweaters when kids are involved, but this is meant to be a special ski sweater and can therefore handle a dry cleaning or a gentle hand wash inconvenience.I really love the way it turned out. It was a simple but entertaining knit. If you are new to color work, this is a great starter--even though I'm not new to the technique, it would be easy for a beginner to tackle incorporating yoke increases at the neckline and color work.
