f.o.: bellows cardigan.
I've been dreaming of a Bellows cardigan by Michele Wang for as long as the pattern has been out. I've looked at others--I started one, at one point, using a substitute yarn before quickly realizing, as always, the designer chose a specific fiber for that design for a reason. And so I frogged.
2021 was my year to finally have a Bellows. The pandemic made it hard to get large quantities of Brooklyn Tweed Shelter yarn in the color way I was hoping to use but when I finally procured my supplies, I didn't look back.
This is Bellows and she is a dream. It was one of the best patterns I've ever followed. The seaming is beautiful and the details are amazing. It took me an equally long time to find just the right buttons to complement the cardigan.
My Bellows is knit in Brooklyn Tweed Shelter in the faded quilt color (a gorgeous gray-blue that's a total dream). Buttons are a gray blue that match just so for a subtle, polished look.
I love wearing it with all gray or with all black. I like it on weekends. I like it for work. It's a near perfect sweater.
My project is here. No modifications.
